Sunday, May 1, 2011 - 6:30pm : Car camp off of FR 2200-100
We took the long way to the meet up point at Jacob Lake and went by way of the south rim. We were out of the house in Flagstaff around 8:30 and spent several hours visiting the visitor center and several viewpoints along the east rim (Desert View Drive). We stopped at Mather Point, Grandview Point, Moran Point and Desert View. We had a light lunch at Desert View and ended up getting to Jacob Lake around 4:10 or so. We all had dinner together at Jacob Lake and then headed off in search of our car camping site for the night.
