We are not supposed to meet Sue and Tom for breakfast until 8:00 and I am up and ready to go already so I went out for a walk over to the rim.

09:15 - Maswik Lodge

We had a wonderful breakfast at the El Tovar. I had the Sonoran Eggs, of course. Tom decided he had to try it as well after hearing me rave about it. He was not disappointed.

After breakfast I walked over to the Backcountry Office and got the first night of our permit changed from Esplanade to Upper Tapeats. It will be very nice to have another lay-over day but its going to make for a long hike on that first day.

Were ready to go and off to tour the south rim along Desert View Drive on the way over to Jacob Lake.

20:30 - Jacob Lake Lodge

Its snowing out!

We arrived at Jacob Lake a little after 5 and checked into our rooms. For dinner we drove up to Kanab, Utah and went to Nedras Too Mexican restaurant. The original Nedras in Fredonia is closed but I dont know if this is permanent or temporary. It looks like a lot of work has been done on the place since the last time I was there and they could be remodeling.

It was raining when we left Kanab to drive back here and as we gained elevation on the way back he rain quickly changed to snow. Its really coming down now and this could be problematic for getting to trailhead tomorrow morning. *crosses fingers*
